Quantum corrections to the classical electrostatic interaction between induced dipoles

چکیده
We study, in the presence of an external electrostatic field, interatomic interaction between two ground-state atoms coupled with vacuum electromagnetic fluctuations within dipole coupling approximation based on perturbation theory. show that, up to fourth order, electrostatic-field-induced is just classical dipole-dipole interaction, which disagrees recent result from Fiscelli et al. [G. al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 124, 013604 (2020)]. However, higher orders, there exist external-field-related quantum corrections induced interaction. In sixth field effectively modifies atomic polarizability give rise a two-photon-exchange correction, while eighth enables additional process three-photon exchange not allowed absence and this generates $r^{-11}$ term potential far regime, where $r$ separation. Numerical estimations that these are much smaller than Casimir-Polder

Quantum corrections to classical solutions via generalized zeta-function
A general algebraic method of quantum corrections evaluations is presented. Quantum corrections to a few classical solutions of Landau-Ginzburg model (phi-in-quadro) are calculated in arbitrary dimensions. The Green function for heat equation with soliton potential is constructed by Darboux transformation. The generalized zeta-function is used to evaluate the functional integral and corrections...
متن کاملBetween classical and quantum ∗
The relationship between classical and quantum theory is of central importance to the philosophy of physics, and any interpretation of quantum mechanics has to clarify it. Our discussion of this relationship is partly historical and conceptual, but mostly technical and mathematically rigorous, including over 500 references. For example, we sketch how certain intuitive ideas of the founders of q...
متن کاملClassical and quantum interaction of the dipole
A unified and fully relativistic treatment of the interaction of the electric and magnetic dipole moments of a particle with the electromagnetic field is given. New forces on the particle due to the combined effect of electric and magnetic dipoles are obtained. Several new experiments are proposed, which include observation of topological phase shifts.
متن کاملQuantum Entanglement, Interaction, and the Classical Limit
Two or more quantum systems are said to be in an entangled or non-factorisable state if their joint (supposedly pure) wave-function is not expressible as a product of individual wave functions but is instead a superposition of product states. Only when the systems are in a factorisable state they can be considered to be separated (in the sense of Bell). We show that whenever two quantum systems...
متن کاملQuantum-fluctuation-induced repelling interaction of quantum string between walls
Quantum string, which was brought into discussion recently as a model for the stripe phase in doped cuprates, is simulated by means of the density-matrixrenormalization-group method. String collides with adjacent neighbors, as it wonders, owing to quantum zero-point fluctuations. The energy cost due to the collisions is our main concern. Embedding a quantum string between rigid walls with separ...
